In response to a late assignment

I think everyone should read that little piece. It really sums up what graphic design is. Almost everything we use or see on a daily basis has, in some way, been affected by some sort of design technique. The website I'm writing this on, my keyboard layout and the typeface used on it, the logo on my laptop, etc, have all be touched and tweaked by designers.

There really are many disciplines that need to be understood to develop proficiency as a designer. In today's world a designer can't just be a pen and paper designer. Software is taking over many of the realms of design, which means that designers now have to become proficient in multiple forms of design. Software, hand-crafting, auditory, etc, all forms of design or conveying design must be mastered to succeed.

so here we have an animated .gif file. its a knife being thrown into an apple...about 1.5 seconds total. after making contact a worm pops up and says bullseye. just for fun, maybe use it for something later.

this is a new version of the wrinkle ad. moved the text in off the edge and also added a bleed to it. also moved the url under the logo.

finally this picture is done. this was a poster project from earlier in the semester. basically i didnt realize that my picture was a. in cmyk, and b. was completely corrupted so each time i tried uploading it, nothing appeared. well now it is.

the topic i chose was world racism. i basically took a facial shot and cut it up and mashed together several different skin tones to create a new person and then used various languages, with the highlighted language being english, to dictate the message. the face has a very bland emotion on it, which definitely helps because the poster is meant to have anything other than a positive emotion. the text says "on the outside we are all different. but on the inside we are all the same."
